Wood Photos: Q-T

_Scroll down to see the pictures, which are arranged alphabetically.
In general, I have chosen to put the plainer, unfinished wood first for each species, followed by a finished instrument. The idea is to demonstrate what is possible with each wood. Often there is a great variety of colors and figure within one species. The wood you find may be less spectacular - or may be even more so. Regretfully, there are many gaps in my photo collection; I used what I ran across and am aware that a deeper search could unearth better examples. We are dealing with many rare woods here, so it is only logical that pictures of them are also rare.
Finally, be aware of two things. Many of these pictures have passed through several computers, all of which have monitors which can cause the hues to vary. And, since these photos came from such diverse sources, they are found at different resolutions. That is why they are not all the same size; many can't be blown up further without losing all definition.
(If you want to see more pictures, LOTS of them, let me suggest the following website. Though not concerned with tonewoods and given little to descriptions, this man has made it a personal crusade to get correct pictures of a vast number of woods. www.hobbithouseinc.com)
